1. Preface
When typing Vietnamese on iPhone, many people will find it difficult to enter letters with symbols.
Long-Press a key, and select a letter from many candidates, you may not know which key is being selected. I wanted to create an easy way to type letters with a tone mark, so it became in the form of consonant and vowel-based keys. I hope you find it useful.

2. Features
(1) Since you can enter multiple characters with one tap, you can enter efficiently.
(2) Consonant and vowel screens are separate, but screen switching is automatic, so its easy.
(3) Since the Vietnamese rules are embedded, you can learn pronunciation and so on.
(4) The phonetic symbols on the keys can be switched between the southern and northern dialects.
(5) Text including capital letters can be easily entered with two types of shift keys.
(6) For a letter with a tone mark, just select the tone mark before tapping the vowel key.
(7) You can access the manual and option switch from the NguyenKey icon.

3. Conditions
· IPhone running iOS 13.1 or higher
· iPad running iPadOS 13.1 or higher

4. Initial Settings
(1) Select “General” from the setting icon on the home screen, and move to “Keyboard”> “Keyboars”.
(2) Press “Add new keyboard ...” at the bottom. You will find NguyenKey in the “THIRD-PARTY KEYBOARDS” corner.
(3) Tap NguyenKey.
* You can also set from “Add new keyboard ...” at the top of the list displayed by long-pressing the globe icon.

5. Example
I will explain the basic usage by taking the input of the most common name “Nguyễn” in Vietnam as an example.
(1) First, check the structure of the word. In this case, there are a head consonant(Ng), a glide vowel(u), a nuclear vowel, diphthong(yê), and a final consonant(n), and the second letter of the diphthong has a tone mark of the wave symbol, Thanh ngã.
(2) The initial consonant is the first letter capitalized (Ng), so tap the white arrow shift key to capitalize the first letter. → Then, only the first character of all consonants on the consonant screen will be capitalized.
(3) Now tap (Ng) → Then, the screen automatically switches to the vowel screen. The consonant screen also returns to lowercase.
(4) Next, tap the glide vowel (u). → The screen does not switch even if you enter a glide vowel.
(5) Next, tap the wave symbol tone shift key to add a tone symbol to the diphthong. → Then all vowels on the vowel screen will be added a tone mark. Diphthongs with the final consonant have a tone mark on the second vowel.
(6) Tap (yễ). → Then, the screen switches to the consonant screen. And all the vowels with the tone mark are reset on the vowel screen.
(7) Enter the final consonant (n). → Even if you enter the final consonant, the screen does not switch. This is because NguyenKey judges whether the next consonant is a initial consonant or a final consonant.
- thats all. Then enter the space key and the next words to create a sentence.
